Charles Herman, 86, former Manitowoc Rapids resident, died Saturday night at
the St. Mary Home for the Aged, Manitowoc, where he had resided recently.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, and at 10:30 at the chapel of the St. Mary Home. The Rev. Casimir
Stec, OFM, will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Herman was born in Algoma, Wis., in 1867, and in 1903 married Miss Mary
Schuler. They located in Manitowoc Rapids in 1907. He was employed at the
Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., for 26 years, retiring in 1933.
Surviving are his wife, five sons, Clarence and Philip of Manitowoc, Harold and
Floyd of Rt. 4, Manitowoc and Carl of Rhinelander; 11 grandchildren and two
great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30
p.m. Monday.
