Mrs. Anita Hill, 88, died Tuesday afternoon, November 17, at Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Phipps Memorial Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Plank will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Hill, nee Anita Sorge, was born March 31, 1893, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank and Katie Giefer Sorge. She was educated in Manitowoc schools and was married to John Hill June 28, 1913, at Manitowoc. The couple resided at Milwaukee many years and later moved to Mukwonago where they owned and operated a truck farm. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a charter member of Nettie Kenney Chapter of Eastern Star of Milwaukee. Her husband preceded her in death in 1971.
Survivors include a brother, Arthur H. Sorge of Manitowoc; two nephews, Warren A. and Betty Sorge, William Sr., and Kathy Sorge and a niece, Karmen and Allan Bentley of Manitowoc and other relatives and friends. A sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 7 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Wednesday evening and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, and at the chapel from noon until the time of service. An Eastern Star memorial service will be 7:30 o'clock Wednesday evening. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Order of Eastern Star 196.
