ARNO M. HILLER

A rural Manitowoc County man died of an apparent heart attack after plowing
snow with a tractor Sunday afternoon, according to Det. Larry Conrad of the
Manitowoc County Sheriff Traffic Department.
He reported that the victim was Arno M. Hiller, 58, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, a
rural residence located three miles west of Manitowoc on County Trunk JJ.
The authorities received a call at 4:12 p.m. from the Manitowoc Ambulance
Service which was responding to a call at the Hiller home.
Following his investigation, Det. Conrad reported that Hiller had been plowing
snow with a tractor, then went into the house to get keys to move his car. He
returned to the car and later was found there, slumped over the steering wheel
by his son, Allan J. Hiller, of the same address.
Coroner James Powers requested an official report of the accident because the
death was not witnessed.

Arno M. Hiller, 58, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly at his home Sunday
afternoon.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John United Church of
Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate and burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Hiller was born Feb. 24, 1917 in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, son of Kurt
Hiller and the late Mrs. Hulda Wilde Hiller. He was educated in the Manitowoc
School System and was graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935(?). He farmed
with his father until 1960, farmed on his own until 1970 and then worked at
Mirro Aluminum Co., Manitowoc until the present. He was a member of United
Steel Workers of America. He married Adeline ?. Damman June 26, 194? at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife Adeline and his father Kurt of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, a
son and daughter-in-law Allan and Mary of Rt. 4 Manitowoc, a daughter, Miss
Annette Hiller of Manitowoc, a sister and brother-in-law Elvira and Robert
Beckley of Tucson, Ariz., and three grandchildren. His mother an aunt and two
uncles preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 to 9
p.m. Tuesday and at the church from noon until the time of services Wednesday.
A vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Julian Resch.
