CARL E. HOEFNER

Carl E. Hoefner, 64, of 1716 New York Ave., Manitowoc, electrical supervisor
for Wisconsin Public Service Corp., died Friday morning at Memorial Hospital,
Manitowoc, where he had been a patient three weeks.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. T. F. Uetzmann officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Hoefner was born Mar. 21, 1902, at Newtonburg, son of the late Henry F.
and Ann M. Baryembruch Hoefner. He moved to Manitowoc in 1919 where he married
the former Leona Bashaw Sept. 5, 1925. He had been employed at WPSC since
May 24, 1924.
Mr. Hoefner was a member of the International Assn. of Electrical Inspectors,
Wisconsin Utilities Assn., Wisconsin Public Service Men’s and Quarter Century
clubs and Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Men’s Club.
Surviving are the wife, a son, Merlyn, and two daughters, Mrs. Donald Buss and
Mrs. Richard P. Herzog, of Manitowoc; three brothers, Norbert, of Newtonburg
and Edmund and Walter, of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. John Waack, of Newton
and Mrs. Adolph Buck and Mrs. Herbert Reichardt of Manitowoc and 13 grand-
children. A daughter and sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Fuenral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Sunday until
noon Monday and then at the church.
Memorials may be sent to the Cancer Fund or to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church.
