Private funeral services for her family were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003
at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc. The Rev. David Rosenow
officiated with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Manitowoc, Lucille was born May 25, 1914, the daughter of
the late Edward Herman and Anna Draheim Goese of Manitowoc. She was educatedi in
the Manitowoc Public School System and graduated from Lincoln High School in the
class of 1933. Early in her life, Mrs. Hogan was employed by the Manitowoc Hotel
and Hilbertshauser Distributing as a receptionist and bookkeeper. Lucille was
married to Elmer Olaf (Sam) Hogan of Escanaba, Mich.,on Feb. 3, 1945 at First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Following her marriage, Lucille was a
homemaker and devoted mother. She remained active throughout her life at First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church and other church activities, community and social groups
including the Manitowoc Chapter of the social sorority Beta Sigma Phi, into which she
was initiated as a young woman. A beloved women and mother, she was admired by her
daughters for her quiet resolve throughout her life. Lucille will be deeply missed
by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Norman Goese; one sister: Mrs.
Leslie (Gretchen) Rapier and her husband: Elmer on April 3, 1965.
In lieu of flowers, the famly requests that memorials be sent to the charity of your
choice.
The family especially wishes to thank the staff of St. Mary's Home, particularly the
staff of Center Three, for the extraordinary level of dignified care provided during
Lucille's final days.
