Mabel F. Holdorf, age 85, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn
and George Wanish, at 1922 Knuell Street, Manitowoc, died Monday, November 13,
2000, at her daughter's residence.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2000, at Grace Ev.
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Keith Haag will officiate, with burial at
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born March 23, 1915, in Oconto, Wis., daughter of the late Gustave A. and
Elizabeth E. Scharff Schroeder. She married Clarence Holdorf on February 3, 1932,
at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Collins, Wis. He preceded her in death
February 10, 1992. Mabel was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church and the Women's
Circle of the church. She was also a volunteer for St. Mary's Home and the Manitowoc
Senior Center.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Marilyn and George Wanish,
Manitowoc, Audrey Krahn, Harrison, Mich.; six grandchildren, Debra (Steve) Kluba,
Virginia (Bruce) Kraak, Tamara (David) Deubler, Jaqueline (Michael) Milski, Scott
(Sandy) Krahn, Kurt (Kim) Krahn; seven great grandchildren, two great great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in 1992, two sisters, one brother, two
sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
Friends may call at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church on Thursday, from 12 Noon until the
time of service at 2 p.m.
A special note of thanks is given to Dr. Andrew Yetter and the Aurora Hospice nurses
for the special care and compassion given to Mabel and also to her family during
her illness.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
