Mike was born March 10, 1947, in New Richmond, Wis., to the late Charles Holst Sr. and Dorothy (Alquist) Holst. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. In 1966, he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country in Vietnam, honorably discharged in 1971. Mike worked for Greenwoods TV and Appliance as a service tech for 14 years, followed by Lakeside Foods where he retired early due to poor health.

Cremation has taken place with the remains to be interred in Manitowoc.
A private family prayer service will take place with a memorial gathering to follow. Friends may greet the family at the Eagles Club on Hamilton Street in Manitowoc on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, from 2 to 5 p.m. The family requests that no flowers be sent. A memoiral fund will be established in his name.
