MARY HOLZINGER

Mary M. Holzinger, age 90, a resident of St. Mary's Nursing Home at Felician
Village, and formerly of 1653 Atlanta Circle, Manitowoc, entered into eternal
life on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Mary was born on March 12, 1919, in Manitowoc to the late Al and Kit Milton
Holsen. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1936. Mary
then obtained her degree from the Manitowoc Business College in 1938 and went
on to work as a legal secretary for various local attorneys in Manitowoc. On
Sept. 18, 1941, Mary married Victor Holzinger at St. Paul's Catholic Church
in Manitowoc. Vic and Mary then resided in Washington, D.C., where she was
employed by Catholic Community Services as a secretary. In 1947, the couple
returned to Manitowoc where Mary enjoyed raising their 7 children. She was an
active volunteer at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center from which her mother
was the first graduating nurse. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi and
an honorary member of the St. Clare Society.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Virginia Holsen and
Elizabeth Johnsrud, one brother, Francis Holsen; 1 son: James Holzinger; and 1
grandson: Mark Holzinger.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at the
Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. A prayer service will be
held at 7 p.m. Mary's family will have a private family gathering at 10 a.m.
on Monday at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
The Mass of Christian Burial, which will be open to the public, will be held
on Monday at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo at 10:30 a.m. There will not be
any visitation at church prior to the beginning of the Mass. Rev. Daniel Felton
will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair
streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Mary's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to St. Mary's Nursing
Home staff - especially those at Tower 1.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Mary's name to the
donor's choice.
