MARIE HORNES

Mrs. Marie Hornes, 65, died at nine o’clock Tuesday night at the Holy Family
hospital following an operation. Funeral services for Mrs. Hornes will be held
Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the home at 413 St. Clair street and at two o’clock
from the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran church. Rev. Theo. Uetzmann officiating. Burial
will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will lie in state at the home, to which
it will be removed Thursday noon from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral
parlors.
Mrs. Hornes, nee Marie Kleiber, was born in Russia in 1872 and was married there
to a Mr. Hort. She came to America with him in 1907 and settled at Wausau. Mr.
Hort died in 1918, and a year later his widow was married to Chris Hornes. Mr.
and Mrs. Hornes moved to Manitowoc in 1920 and have lived here since that time.
Survivors are the widower, one daughter, Mrs. Walter Borgwardt, route 2, five
sons, John, Ernest, Reinhold, Edward and Otto Hornes, all of this city, five
grandchildren and one brother, George Kleiber of Wausau.
