Ernest F. Hrudka, 74, of 728 No. Seventh St., Manitowoc, died Friday morning
at home after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. T.F. Uetzmann officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Hrudka was born Dec. 5, 1890, at Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph and
Anna Jachimstal Hrudka. He was graduated from local schools and in 1913 from
the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He married Alvina Juedes May 18, 1921,
at Peshtigo. He was a cheesemaker from 1913-35 in northern Wisconsin and upper
Michigan and came to Manitowoc in 1935 to operate the home farm. He has resided
in the city since retiring in 1958.
Survivors are his wife, a son, (private), a daughter, (private), two sisters,
Mrs. Daniel Echlund, of Moline, Ill., and Mrs. Helmer Nelson, of Mt. Prospect,
Ill., 11 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Three brothers, a son and a
daughter preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m.
Sunday until 10:30 a.m. Monday and then at the church.
