Carl F. Huebner, 91, of 1140 S. 35th Street, Manitowoc, died Saturday morning, May 25, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Larry Ellenberger will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Huebner was born February 5, 1894, in the Town of Newton, Manitowoc County, son of the late Carl and Fredericka Groth Huebner. Mr. Huebner was educated in the Town of Newton Schools. Mr. Huebner owned and operated Huebner Builders from 1920 until his retirement in 1968. He married the former Erna M. Glaeser on September 18, 1919, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Liberty. The couple celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary last year. Mr. Huebner was a charter member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former member of the Church Council. Mr. Huebner was a Veteran of World War I serving in the Army. Mr. Huebner enjoyed his vegetable gardening as well as family gatherings.
Survivors include his wife, Erna; three sons and daughters-in-law, The Rev. Elton H. and Helene Huebner of New Berlin, Wisconsin, The Rev. Lloyd O. and Inez Huebner of New Ulm, Minnesota and Wayne C. and Diane Huebner of Manitowoc; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth C. and Harry H. Teteak of Manitowoc, Ione E. and The Rev. Demar C. Brick of New Ulm, Minnesota and Nona J. and Robert W. Stevens of Manitowoc; 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survived. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Henry and four sisters, Ella, Emma, Caroline and Ida.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Tuesday afternoon, and Wednesday at the church from noon until the hour of service. Memorials would be appreciated to Bethany Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
