Herbert A. Jacob, age 97, formerly of 1401 Marshall St., Manitowoc, died
Friday, January 29, 1999, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 1, 1999, at First
German Ev. Lutheran Church, Rev. Joel Otto will officiate with burial at
Evergreen Cemetery.
Herbert was born June 10, 1901, at Newton, son of the late Carl and Ida
Lehmkuhl Jacob. He grew up and was educated at Newton, attending St.
John Ev. Lutheran School where he was confirmed March 28, 1915. He was
employed at Wisconsin Fuel & Light Co. for 45 years where he retired as
shop foreman. He was then employed at Westphal's True Value for ten
years. Herbert was married to Hilda G. Reinhardt June 12, 1926, at First
German Ev. Lutheran Church. Hilda preceded him in death October 24,
1988. He was a member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc,
Senior Center and the United Association of Journeyman since 1937.
Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Jacob, Manitowoc; nieces,
nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by two brothers,
Arthur and Arno; three sisters, Milda Groelle, Viola Buss and Etta Schmill.
Relatives and friends may call at First German Ev. Lutheran Church after
10 a.m. Monday until the time of service at 11 a.m.
