DR. E.M. JACOBS PASSES AWAY AT 3 TODAY
Dr. E.M. Jacobs, one of the city's best known physicians and engaged in
practice for years, died at his home on N. Eleventh street this afternoon.
Dr. Jacobs had been ill for some time but his condition had not been
thought to be grave.
Dr. Jacobs suffered a stroke of paralysis on December 17 and since had
been confined to his home. His condition became alarming at noon today
when he sustained a second stroke and death came to him at 2:30.

years ago, Dr. Jacobs came to Manitowoc twenty-three years ago to engage
in practice of his profession, and had since been located here. He main-
tained offices in the Torrison building on N. Eighth street.
Besides his wife Dr. Jacobs is survived by three daughters, Althea,
Cordella, and Mrs. Vincent Stupecky, all of this city
Funeral arrangements have not been made but the burial probably will be
under the auspices of the Masonic order of which he was a member.
News of the death of Dr. Jacobs comes as a shock to the community as not
many were aware of his condition. He was widely known in the city and
county and during his twenty-three years of residence, had establishe a
large practice in his profession.

FUNERAL OF DR. JACOBS TO BE SATURDAY
The funeral of Dr. E.M. Jacobs, whose death occurred yesterday afternoon,
following a second stroke of paralysis which he suffered at noon, will be
held from the home at 837 North Eleventh street, Saturday afternoon, at 2
o’clock. The Reverend Boyd will officiate at the services and interment
will be at Evergreen.
Doctor Jacobs was born at Ephriam (sic) October 28, 1858, and was a graduate
of the Homeopathic school of medicine. He was married thirty years ago to
Minnie Wagner, the wife who survives and the family has resided here for
twenty-three years. Doctor Jacobs was a member of the Masonic order and of
the Odd Fellows.
