{{George Jacobsen, 68, of 725 S. 16th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. V.E. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Jacobsen was born Aug. 2, 1896, at Manitowoc, son of Christian and Anna Burger Jacobsen Sr. He married Esther Glaeser June 6, 1923, at Manitwooc. She died Aug. 5, 1960. In December, 1960, he married Mrs. Ann Holmes of Mishicot.

He was employed for 45 years at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., as a carpenter and drydock supervisor. Prior to this he worked for three years at Burger Boat Co. Inc. He retired in 1963. Mr. Jacobsen supervised all docking and played an active part in launchings at the shipyards. He numbered among his close friends shipowners, captains and chief engineers of the Great Lakes fleet. He was one of the organizers and a member of the Foremen's Club of the Manitowoc shipbuilding firm. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 706, First Lutheran Church Council and Men's Brotherhood of the church.

Surviving are the wife, a son (Survivor omitted for privacy), with the United States Air Force at Newport News, Va., a sister, Mrs. Meta Bartel, of Manitowoc; three brothers, Christian, Herman and Fred Jacobsen, of Manitowoc; two stepdaughters; five step-sons (Survivors
omitted for privacy); and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, until 11:30 a.m. Saturday and after noon at the church until time of service. The Men's Brotherhood will have a memorial service at 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.}}
