ELLA JACOBSON (d. 1927)

STROKE CLAIMS MRS. JACOBSON SUDDENLY HERE
Death Follows Close on Heels of Stroke Which She Suffered Saturday Afternoon
Mrs. Ella Jacobson, wife of Joseph Jacobson, passed away early last
evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore C. Geisler, at 949
North Eighth street, death following shortly after a stroke with which
she was stricken Saturday afternoon while in apparent good health. News
of the passing comes as a shock to many in the city and county as Mrs.
Jacobson had been in good health though she suffered a similar affliction
three years ago.
Funeral Wednesday
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two, from the Geisler
home, the Rev. D.G. Ristad officiating, and the remains will be laid to
rest in Evergreen.
The deceased, who was Ella Olson before her marriage, was born in Valders,
Norway, and came to this country with her parents at the age of two years,
going directly to Wisconsin where they settled in the western part of this
county, near Rockland, where Mrs. Jacobson grew to womanhood. She was born
on June 22, 1865, being 62 years of age at the time of death, and was
married to Joseph Jacobson at Gjerpen on Ocotber 11, 1888.
Mr. Jacobson and three children, two sons, Martin of Oakland, Calif., and
George of this city, and a daughter, Mrs. Theodore Geisler, also of this
city survive, as do two brothers, Ben of West Allis, and Ole of Suring,
and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Erickson of Valders and Mrs. John Jackowski of
Milwaukee. Five grandchildren also survive.
In City 24 Years
The deceased lived in this city for more than 24 years, and was a member
of the First Lutheran congregation, in which, despite her advanced age,
she took an active part in all functions. She was a member of the Ladies
Auxiliary of the American Legion.
