Verna E. Jagodensky, age 98, a resident of North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation
Center, formerly of 850 Jackson St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, September 15, 1999,
at North Ridge.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski. O.F.M.
at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc, on Saturday, September 18, 1999, at 11
a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Verna was born February 4, 1901, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late John and Mary
Nowakowski Skladge. She married Max Jagodensky on January 8, 1923, in Two Rivers. Mr.
Jagodensky preceded her in death on August 28, 1988. She was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Ellig and Joan (John) Doolan, all of Manitowoc;
three grandchildren, Thomas Doolan, Manitowoc, Dr. Nicholas (Dona) Ellig, Moorehead,
Minn., and Brian (Karol) Ellig, Newburgh, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Frances Matte,
Manitowoc; one brother-in-law, Jim (Babs) Jagodensky, Two Rivers; other relatives and
friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son-in-law, Richard
Ellig; two sisters, Ann Kaminski and Mary Kuklis; three brothers, Robert, Raymond and
Anton Skladge.
Friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of
Mass at 11 a.m.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, assisted the Jagodensky family with
funeral arrangements.
Verna was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed
by her family.

Marriage of Max/Verna Jagodensky
Miss Verna Skladge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Skladge of this city and Max
Jogodenski(sic), son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jagodenski were united in marriage
at nine o'clock on Monday morning at Sacred Heart church, Rev. Malkowski
performing the ceremony. Miss Agnes Rosinski, John Jogodenski, Helen Jogodenski
and Anton Skladge were attending couples. The groom is a member of the Manitowoc
Fire Department and the couple will reside in that city.
