FRIEDRICH JENS (d. 1907)

Frederick (sic) Jens, a well known South Side resident, died Sunday after an
illness of eleven weeks from typhoid pneumonia and tubercular trouble. Decedent,
who was 45, had been employed as janitor of the Lutheran church and school for
eight years and had a wide acquaintance. The widow and four children, one son
and three daughters survive and two brothers and two sisters also mourn his
demise. The funeral will be held Thursday from the Lutheran church.

Death Sunday following a long and difficult illness of 47-year old Friedrich Jens,
a well-known resident of our city. The deceased, who for many years served as sexton
for the local Lutheran Congregation School and Church, fell ill last Fall with typhus,
which was aggravated by the onset of other illnesses, bringing the doctor to the
conclusion that there was no hope. The deceased leaves a widow and 4 children.
