Lester H. Jens, 78, of 853 Wilson St., Manitowoc, died Friday evening, June 17, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Parkside Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James J. Stamborski and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Jens was born Oct. 20, 1904, at Manitowoc, son of the late Henry and Bertha Dickert Jens. He was educated in the Manitowoc School System and graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1922. He married Mildred Theisen Dec. 2, 1925, at St. John Cathedral, Milwaukee. Mr. Jens was owner and operator of Jens Clothier Store and Jens Tailor Shop located in Manitowoc for many years. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 710, the Manitowoc Elks Lodge No. 687, The Seagulls, The Isaac Walton League and St. Andrew Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Joe Brejcha of Milwaukee and Joanne and George Bartelt of Tomahawk, Wis.; a brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Evelyn of Manitowoc and seven grandchildren, Bonnie, Joseph and Barbara Brejcha, Jeffrey, Timothy, Michael, and Kathleen Bartelt and other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Sunday evening, where a prayer service will be at 7 o'clock led by Father Stamborski.
