GEORGIA JENSEN

Georgia H. Jensen, age 93, a resident of Morningside Health Care Facility, died there Tuesday evening, Sept. 7, 2004. Georgia was born Feb. 22, 1911 in Manitowoc to Carl and Anna (Frosh) Hartwig. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. On Aug. 20, 1945, Georgia and Walter V. Jensen, also of Manitowoc, were united in marriage at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. The couple moved to Kohler in 1947 where Mr. Jensen was employed at Kohler Company as the supervisor of the Power House. He preceded her in death in 1968. Georgia was active in the Kohler Women's Club serving for many years as treasurer and later president of the organization. She also served as treasurer of the Better Films Council of Sheboygan and organized bus tours throughout the area. Georgia is survived by her son: Dr. Greg F. Jensen; daughter-in-law: Doreen Ruppel Jensen; and grandson: Eric R. Jensen, all of Oshkosh. In addition to her parents and husband, Georgia was preceded in death by her sisters: Iva Hartwig and Alice Hartwig Hanson, both of Manitowoc. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
