Mrs. Viola J. Jirikowic, 71, of 802 Green Street, Manitowoc, died Monday evening,
February 22, 1988 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will
be 11 am Thursday at St. John United Church of Christ. Rev. Gerald Schrankler will
officiate with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Jirikowic was born July 2, 1916 at Minneapolis, Minnesota, daughter of the
late Leonard J. and Anna Watten O'Malley. The family moved to Two Rivers where she
attended local schools. She married Edward Jirikowic on January 21, 1938 at Dubuque,
Iowa. The couple then came to Manitowoc to make their home. Mrs. Jirikowic was a
member of St. John United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Edward; four sons and daughters-in-law, James and
Bonnie of Manitowoc, Gary and Mary Ann of Manitowoc, Edward and Kathy of Jackson,
Mississippi and Jeff and Cathy of Appleton; seven daughters and six sons-in-law,
Barbara and Art Jagemann of Manitowoc, Donna and Dennis Markowski of Manitowoc,
Carol and Alan Chermak of Manitowoc and Judy and Ralph Wobachall of Boynton Beach,
Florida, Marlene and Joe Merrin of Plant City, Florida, Vicki Simino of Castro
Valley, California and Paticia and John Stamm of Orange Park, Florida; two brothers
and a sister-in-law, Russell O'Malley of Houston, Texas and Willard and Mary O'Malley
of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister, Christine Ziarnik of Manitowoc; 31
grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by
two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, 4 pm to 8 pm this Wednesday and from 10 am
Thursday until the hour of service at the church. Memorials would be appreciated to
