RICHARD E. JOHNSON (d. 1988)

Richard E. Johnson, 84, of 913 Circle Drive, Manitowoc, died Friday evening,
January 15, 1988 at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will
be 2:30 pm Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home. Rev. Robert B. Hays will officiate
with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Johnson was born April 14, 1903 at Wallace, Michigan, son of the late Aron
and Inga Lundberg Johnson. He married the former Helen Ann Marson on June 20,
1928 at Stephenson, Michigan. The couple moved to Manitowoc in 1943, where she
preceded him in death September 4, 1957. Prior to his retirement in 1971, Mr.
Johnson had been employed as a Carpenter with Burger Boat Company for 20 years.
He was a member of Carpenters Local 849 and a member of Wesley United Methodist
Church.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard M. and Sue Johnson of
Phoenix, Arizona and Joseph D. Johnson of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-
law, Elizabeth H. and Miles Scallon of Two Rivers and Margaret A. and Thomas
Lutz of Glenview, Illinois; a sister, Ethel S. Rouse of Ocala, Florida; a sister-
in-law, Marion Green of Detroit, Michigan; 15 grandchildren and 8 great
grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by four sisters and two
brothers.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 12 noon until the hour of service on
Monday. There will be no Sunday evening visitation at the funeral home.
