Miss Jean A. Johnsrud, 79, of 1302 North 8th Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday afternoon, February 23, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Parkside Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Harvey will officiate with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Miss Johnsrud was born June 28, 1904, at Manitowoc, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John and Josephine Edwards Johnsrud. Miss Johnsrud graduated from Manitowoc Washington High School in 1922 and from Whitewater Teachers College in 1929. She then attended Gregg College in Chicago, the State University of Iowa and Montana State University. Miss Johnsrud taught at Lake Mills High School, Wausaukee High School and Manitowoc Lincoln High School for 39 years, from 1930 to 1969. Miss Johnsrud was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, the churches parish council, the Margarets Guild and Choir, the Manitowoc Educational Association, the Wisconsin and National Business Educational Association, the League of Women Voters and the Manitowoc Mobile Meals.
Survivors include several cousins and friends.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening. Memorials may be made to St. James Episcopal Church or the Manitowoc Mobile Meals.
