DON A. JORGENSEN

Don A. Jorgensen, age 70, of 3205 Coolidge Place, Manitowoc, died peacefully
Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He Rev. Dave Hoffman will celebrate the Mass
of Christian Burial, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemeery.
Don was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Racine, Wis., son of the late John and Mabel
Knorr Jorgensen. He grew up and was educated in Racine, and graduated from
William Horlick High School with the class of 1950. On Aug. 28, 1954, Don
married the former Marilyn Lames in Racine. In 1955 Don graduated from Lawrence
University, Appleton. In 1956 Don and his wife Marilyn moved to Manitowoc. Don
was a teacher in the Manitowoc Public School System. He taught history at Wilson
Junior High School for 14 years, where he also coached football. During the
summers, Don worked in the pro shop at Lincoln Fields Golf Course, Manitowoc.
After receiving his master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison,
Don became head of the audio-visual department for the Manitowoc Public School
System until his retirement in 1990.
Don was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a former member of the noon
Kiewannis Club, Manitowoc, and former member and past president of the Wisconsin
Audio Visual Association.
Survivors include his wife: Marilyn Jorgensen, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-
in-law: Ken and Mary Jo Jorgensen, Manitowoc; two daughters and one son-in-law:
Sandy Busse, Manitowoc and Julie and Lee Troullier, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren:
Aaron and Michelle Woitkovich, Virginia and Austen Busse, and Renee, Josie and
Mary Troullier; one step-sister; Eleanor Asman, Union Grove; nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends also survive. Besides his parents, Don was preceded
in death by his step-father: Chris Hansen; one daughter: Karen Jorgensen; one
brother: Jack Jorgensen; one step-brother: Clyde Hansen, and one step-brother-in-
law: Dick Asman.
Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a prayer
service at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends may also call at Sacred Heat Catholic
Church, 702 State St., Manitowoc, on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003 from 10 a.m. until
the time of service at 11 a.m.
