Violet Ida Jorsch, age 78, a resident of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon, January 24, 2001, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2001, at St. Mary's Home Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Wojciechowski, O.F.M. Cremation will have taken place with burial of the cremains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.
She was born August 11, 1922, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Kurt and Sophie Hanstedt Kasten. Violet was a graduate of washington High School, Two Rivers. On December 23, 1944, she married Arthur Jorsch, in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death May 30, 1981. Violet was employed at the Mirro Company for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time at her cottage up North and fishing.
Survivors include one son and two daughters-in-law, Ronald and Mary Kaye Jorsch, Manitowoc, Mrs. Julie (Alan) Jorsch, Two Rivers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Lloyd Reif, Judy and David Myers, all of Manitowoc; 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Verna Eiermann, Hazel and Leo Petrashek, Carol Waskow, all of Two Rivers. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Alan Jorsch.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary's Home Chapel from 12 noon Saturday until the time of service at 1 p.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
