Mrs. August Kaems, 90, died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Walter B. Biesemeyer, of 1417 S.12th St., Manitowoc. She has lived there the
past 20 years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The
Rev. L. H. Koeninger will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Kaems, nee Sophie Mallmann, was born March 30, 1867, in Sheboygan. Oct. 12,
1887, she was married to August Kaems in Sheboygan, and they moved to Manitowoc.
They operated and resided at Kaems’ Tavern (now Thielen’s Tavern) at 1134 S.
10th St. until about 1933. They moved to 1417 So. 12th St., Manitowoc, then and
three years later, her husband died. She was a member of the First German Lutheran
Church Ladies Aid for 54 years.
She is survived by her daughter, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Lester, preceded her in death in 19__.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.
