Ann M. Karbon, age 85 of 1224 South 36th St., Manitowoc, died Friday, March 4,
2005 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2005 at Bethany
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen
Melso will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery.
Ann was born December 13, 1919 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and
Mary Nething. On Oct. 24, 1941 Ann married Chester J. Karbon at Immanuel
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, he preceded her in death, Feb. 14,
1995. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ann enjoyed
gardening and cooking.
Survivors include three daughters and two son-in-laws: Judith Karbon, Manitowoc,
Nancy and Gary Larson, Merced, Calif., Marilyn and Orley Skattebo, Manitowoc;
two sons and daughter-in-law: James and Vicki Karbon, Manitowoc, Chester Jr.
and Elisa (Mona) Karbon, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren: Rebecca (Tim) Harms,
Modesto, Calif., Patti (Manuel) Padron, Higley, Ar., Eric Larson, San Francisco,
Calif., Shawn Hamberg, Manitowoc, Andrew Karbon, Manitowoc, Scott Karbon,
Manitowoc, Kristin Karbon, Brillion, and Nicole Karbon, Manitowoc; eight great-
grandchildren; one sister: Rose Nething, Manitowoc; brothers-in-law and sisters-
in-law: Elmer and Elaine Karbon, Manitowoc, Lloyd and Elizabeth Karbon, Manitowoc,
Roland and Geneva Karbon, Manitowoc, Mable Gadzinski, Manitowoc, Helen and Ray
Kath, Manitowoc, and Henry Barbieuer, Janesville; niece, nephews, other relatives
and friends also survive. Besides her parents and husband Chester, Ann was
preceded in death by four brothers: Bill, John, Edward, and Edwin Nething; one
sister-in-law: Luella Barbieuer; two brother-in-laws, Melvin Karbon, and Leonard
Gadzinski.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday March 7, 2005 at Bethany Evangelical
Lutheran Church, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Jens
Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Manitowoc is assisting the family.
Memorials may be made to the Open Arms Assisted Living, Manitowoc.
