AUTO INJURY PROVES FATAL
Raymond Karbon Dies As Result of Accident October 4
Raymond Karbon, 27, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Karbon, route 5, Manitowoc, died
early today at the Holy Family hospital, of injuries suffered in an automobile
accident Sunday Oct. 4 near Grimms.
Karbon sustained a fractured skull and internal injuries. He was riding in a car
driven by Anton Baumann, Branch, when the later lost control of the machine while
going down a hill. The car skidded off the highway into the ditch. Karbon was
brought to the hospital here.
Funeral Thursday
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Wattawa, Urbanek and
Schlei funeral home and at nine o'clock from the Sacred Heart church.
Mr. Karbon was born on a farm near Antigo in 1909. Soon after the family located
in this county. For several years he assisted his father in farming. He was active
in county baseball circles and was a catcher for the Francis Creek team in various
county leagues.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Karbon; two brother, Norman and
Milton, at home; three sisters, Esther, Delores and Marilyn, at home; a grandfather,
Peter Karbon, Branch.
