Christine R. Kimmel, age 97, a resident of the Manitowoc Health Care Center, 2021 South Alverno Road, Manitowoc, formerly of Whitelaw and Reedsville, entered eternal rest Saturday morning, Sept. 18, 2004 at the Manitowoc Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, 1121 N. 14th St., Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald Foley with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Christine was born Aug. 30, 1907 in the town of Maple Grove, Manitowoc County. Her parents were the late Anton and Anna Kocourek Dvorachek. She and her late husband farmed on the home farm in the town of Branch. Christine enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On June 23, 1931 she married John Kimmel in Reedsville, Wis. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1983. Christine was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and the Christian Women of Holy Innocents, also a member of the Branch-Whitelaw Senior Citizens and past member of the Branch Homemakers Club. Christine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Harold and Celestine Kimmel, Branch, Wis.; three daughters and sons-in-law: Angeline and Edwin Spatcheck, Brillion, Wis.; Alice and Robert Hardrath, Whitelaw, Wis.; Helen and William Baroum, Taus; one brother and sister-in-law: Emil and Dolores Dvorachek, Manitowoc; 18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends surviving. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at the Manitowoc Health Care Center for the loving care given to our Mother while she had been a resident there. Friends may call at Holy Innocents Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
