Lucille Anne Kimmel, age 94, died on March 18, 2006, in Grand Rapids, MI of pneumonia. She resided at 406 Huron St. in Manitowoc for over 60 years until 2002 when she moved to Grand Rapids, MI to live with her daughter, Mary Kaye, son-in-law, John, and grandson, Micah. She was born Anna Lucille Cavanaugh in Maple Grove, WI on January 17, 1912, daughter of Patrick W. and Anna Cavanaugh. She graduated from St. Patrick School at Maple Grove and graduated from Reedsville High School. She graduated from Manitowoc County Normal College with a degree in Teaching and taught in the Manitowoc County School System. In 1930, she married Joseph Kimmel of Branch, WI. The couple had three sons and one daughter: Merrill Joseph, Donald F, Gerald E. and Mary Kaye. She and her husband were members of Sacred Heart Parish for 60 years, and was an active member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society. During her later career as a Nursing Assistant, she worked at Memorial Hospital, Park Lawn Nursing Home, ending her career with 25 years of service at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. In her retirement, she was a member of the Catholic Women's Club and Manitowoc County Senior Volunteers. She volunteered at the Manitowoc St. Vincent de Paul Society store twice a week until 2002, when she moved to Grand Rapids. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Parish from 2002 to present. She is survived by her children and children-in-law: Donald and Joan Kimmel of Cleveland Heights, OH, Gerald and Sue Kimmel of Eden Prairie, MN, and Mary Kaye and John Alexander, of Grand Rapids, MI. 10 grandchildren also survive her: Sherry (Michael) Stancl, Vicki (Steve) Henkel, John M. Kimmel, Kristen (Scott) Tschida, Elizabeth A. Kimmel, Michael G. Kimmel, Joshua J. Alexander, Kelly (Jason) Edwards, Specialist Micah K. Alexander, and Patrick J. Kimmel. She was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren: Ryan Stancl, Brad, Trent, and Craig Henkel, Jacob, Lucas, and Grace Tschida, and Wyatt and Isabelle Edwards. Her sister, Margaret (Cavanaugh) Malkowski and brother-in-law, John, of Milwaukee, WI, her sister-in-law, Mary (Daley) Cavanaugh of Reedsville, Cyril C. Cavanaugh of Green Bay, WI, and former daughter-in-law, Caroline (Kimmel) Behnke of Apache Junction, AZ survive her, in addition to several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her husband, Joseph, and son, Merrill, siblings, Julia, Victor, Ellen, and Michael preceded her in death. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2006. Visitation will occur between 9:00 to 10:30 am at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home at 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc. Prayer service will occur at 10:30 am; followed by procession to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at Waldo Blvd for an 11:00 Mass presided by Archbishop Timothy Broglio, Papal Nuncio to the Dominican Republic and Apostolic Delegate to Puerto Rico, followed by a procession to Evergreen Cemetery for prayers and interment. Friends and family are urged to join the family at church hall for a luncheon in celebration of Lucille's life. The family will be happy to provide special assistance to anyone needing it. The family requests that donations be made in Lucille's honor to the St. Vincent de Paul Society Store of Manitowoc or Peter's Pantry, Inc. in lieu of flowers.

Marriage of Joseph/Lucille Kimmel
Notes from Reedsville:
Maple Grove was the scene of a pretty wedding Saturday morning at St. Patrick's
parsonage. Miss Anna Lucile Cavanaugh(sic), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. W.
Cavanaugh was united in marriage to Joseph Kimmel of Branch, Rev. Father Ahearn
performed the ceremony.
The bridegroom was attended by John Kimmel as best man, while Miss Christine
Dvorachek as bridesmaid. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of
the bride's parents where a wedding dinner was served. Both young people are well
known and have a wide circle of friends. The bride is one of our choicest young
ladies. The groom operates a garage at Branch. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs.
Kimmel left on a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, Chicago and other points.
