Henry J. Kirchoff, 92, of 1312 Division Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, February 27, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home. The Rev. George Knudson will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Kirchoff was born March 16, 1892, in the Town of Newton, son of the late Ferdinand and Minnie Schuette Kirchoff. Henry was baptized at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. He was then confirmed at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1906. Mr. Kirchoff was employed at American Seating Company of Manitowoc and then at Manitowoc Public Utilities from 1934 to 1968, when he retired as a fireman engineer. He married the former Elva Tomaschefsky on November 24, 1920, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. Henry enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially wood working and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Elva; a son and a daughter-in-law, Henry F. and Roberta Jeanne Kirchoff of Green Bay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen M. and Sylvester J. Diedrich of Manitowoc and Lorraine G. and Arnold E. Gaestel of Green Bay; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survived. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may meet with the family at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday afternoon and on Saturday from 830 a.m. until the hour of service.
