Ronald R. Klein, age 64, of Manitowoc, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Private graveside services were held at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Ron was born Jan. 11, 1942, in Manitowoc, son of the late Gilbert and Leona Klein. On Feb. 4, 1961, Ron married the former Virginia McKenna in Manitowoc. Ron worked for the City of Manitowoc Cemetery and Parks Department for many years until his retirement. After retirement Ron and his wife Virginia owned and operated Klein Asphalt Maintenance. Ron was active in the business until his death. Loving husband of Virginia Klein, Manitowoc; loving father of Robert Klein, Manitowoc; Heidi Kohlbeck and her husband Terry, Valders; Rick Klein, Manitowoc; mother-in-law: Edna Kurtz, Chilton; two sisters: LaVern Dunn, Oak Creek; Carol Klein, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jim and Barbara Kurtz, Chilton; Gloria and Dan Schaut, Manitowoc; best friend of Mikiah and Allie, his two dogs. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-laws: Herman McKenna and Lyle Kurtz; one brother: Gary Klein; one sister: Monica Maddocks; and one brother-in-law: Miles Dunn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ron's name to the Lakeshore Humane Society, or the Capitol Civic Centre.
