OLD RESIDENT TOWN OF RAPIDS DEAD, AGED 81
Frederick Kluenker, a resident of the county since 1887 when he came here from
Germany and engaged in farming in the town of Rapids, died yesterday afternoon
at the home of his son George at Five Corners, aged 81 years. Death followed an
illness of two years during which Mr. Kluenker had been failing gradually. The
funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock from the home at Five
Corners, the Rev. Machmiller officiating.
Mr. Kluenker was born April 14, 1842 and spent his life until 1887 in Germany,
when with his family he came here to locate. His wife, nee Minnie Sander, died
eleven years ago and he had since made his home with his son. He is survived by
five children, Fred, Charles, George and Minnie at Rapids and Mrs. Sophia
Hardrath, of Unity, Wis. Ten grand children also survive.
