JOHN HENRY KLUSMEYER (b. 1935)

John Henry Klusmeyer, age 72, of 3716 Rasher St., Manitowoc, entered eternal
life on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
John was born on Jan. 20, 1935, in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Ervin
and Ethel Reibold Klusmeyer. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the
class of 1954. John was employed with Manitowoc Cranes and Burger Boat Company.
John and his wife, Janice, operated Big John's Bar. While operating the bar,
John also worked at the Holiday House in Manitowoc. John then became employed
with the city of Manitowoc during which time he worked at the Manitowoc Senior
Center, Manitowoc City Hall, and was a bridge tender until he retired. On
Oct. 11, 1958, he married Janice Crabb in Manitowoc. John loved to spend time
with his family and friends. He always was the "handyman." He loved to ride his
Harley Davidson and was the president of the Sidekicks Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Janice; two daughters and one son-in-law: Jacqualine Klusmeyer and special friend, Terry Handl, and Jill and Scott Cochrane, all of Manitowoc; two sons and on daughter-in-law: James Klusmeyer, and Joel (Becky) Klusmeyer, all of Manitowoc; one son-in-law: Russ Lau, Two Rivers; two sisters: Jane Brault, Manitowoc, and Barb Schwehart, Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law: Jane (John) Polnow, Rockford, Ill., and Mary Lou Wypiszynski, Lake Mills; two brothers-in-law: Charles (Stella) Crabb, Two Rivers and Richard Baes, Gasport, N.Y.; grandchildren: Nichole (John) Abitz; Sarah, Stephanie, Ashley, Johathon Oakley; Hope Klusmeyer; Makayla Lau; Jamie Malauf; James Klusmeyer Jr.; Katrina, Amanda, John, Joseph, Kelly Jo Klusmeyer; and Samantha Fuller; four great-grandchildren: Keiana, Paige, Ashton and Jada; and many nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Julie Lau; his parents: Ervin and Ethel
Klusmeyer; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lawerence and Myrtle Crabb; five
brothers-in-law: Robert Wypiszynsk; David Hoffman; David Brault; Robert Schwehart;
and James Crabb; and two sisters-in-law: Nina Crabb and Lois Baes.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral
Home with the Rev. Robert V. Krejcie officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen
Cemetery with a procession leaving the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Friday with grave-
side services being held at 10:15 a.m.
Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday
from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, North 11th and St. Clair
streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at Holy
Family Memorial Medical Center on Fifth Floor East, the Intensive Care Unit and
River's Bend for all the care and support during John's stay.
