Joseph Mathew Knechtel, 55, died at 12:15 this noon at his home, 909 Jackson
street, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at nine oclock from St. Andrews
Catholic church. Burial will be made in the Evergreen cemetery.
He was born Feb. 24, 1883 in Centerville. He came to Manitowoc with his family as
a child. He was married April 14, 1909 in Manitowoc to Ella Lindeman, who survives.
He was employed for 35 years with his brother, Stephen, road contractor.
Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Ben Werner, at home; to sisters,
Mrs. Hugo Belinski and Mrs. Joseph Rugowski, both of Manitowoc; and one brother,
Stephen.
Further information on the funeral will be announced tomorrow.
