Mrs. Roy (Linda) Knowles, 82, of 1445 N. 7th Street, Manitowoc, died
Sunday, June 7, 1987 at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc. Funeral
services will be 7 pm Tuesday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Rev.
Gerald Schrankler will officiate with burial on Wednesday at Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Knowles was born September 6, 1904 at Eureka, Wisconsin, daughter
of the late Emil and Pauline Wendtond Steinke. She married Roy Knowles
on December 6, 1924 at Menominee, Michigan. The couple came to Manitowoc
to reside in 1927. He preceded her in death in 1958. Mrs. Knowles was a
member of St. John United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Jeanette
Knowles of Madison and Wayne and Diane Knowles of Manitowoc; a sister,
Dora Korth of Clintonville, Wisconsin; five grandchildren and five great
grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband,
two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 pm to 7 pm
Tuesday with services being held at 7 pm.
