Roy G. Knowles, 59, of 1138 S. 15th St., Manitowoc, died early Monday morning
after a heart attack at Mattoon, Shawano County, where he had been visiting
with a sister.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
with the Rev. Theodore Crusius officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
Mr. Knowles was born at Mattoon May 19, 1899, son of the late D. D. and Mildred
Bells Knowles. He married Linda Steiner at Menominee, Mich., Dec. 6, 1924, and
the couple came to Manitowoc 31 years ago. He had been employed by Mirro Aluminum
Co. and Kingsbury Breweries and more recently by Manitowoc Equipment Works. At the
latter plant he was a member of Lake Shore Lodge No. 2064, AFL-CIO International
Association of Machinists.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Kenneth of Green Bay and Wayne of Manitowoc;
step-father, George Weyenberg of Mattoon; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Larson of Mattoon;
two brothers, Howard of Mattoon and Donald of Green Bay; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of service.
