Anton Kocian, 89, (photo), retired farmer and dray line operator, died
early today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Frolick, of route 5,
Manitowoc, following a week's illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Urbanek and Schlei
funeral home and at 9 o'clock at the Holy Innocents church, the Rev. E.A.
Radey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
He was born in Bohemia, in 1856 and when a boy accompanied his parents to
Menchalville. Sixty years ago he married Miss Theresa Sternard and moved
to Milladore, Wis., where for years he operated a dray line. Twenty years
ago they returned to this county and he engaged in farming until retiring
a few years ago. Mrs. Kocian died eight years ago.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Frolick of route 5, Manitowoc, Mrs. Frank
Pacourek of Green Bay, Mrs. Joseph Jaeckels of Reedsville, Mrs. Henry Hardina
of this city; seven sons, John of Rhinelander, Frank of New Richmond, Minn.,
Charles of Wisconsin Rapids, Joseph of Wayside, Louis, Fred and Edward of
Green Bay; brother, Frank of this city; sister, Mrs. Joseph Feit of Duluth;
35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Sunday noon until the hour
of services.
