From Der Nord Westen, 25 Aug. 1904:
Death Fri. morning in Milwaukee of 37-yr. old Mrs. John Koenig. Just
2 wks ago the lady’s 2-yr. old daughter had been so terribly torn apart
by a dog that the child died immediately. This misfortune so shattered
the poor mother that she was admitted to the hospital where she died.
Mrs. Koenig was the daughter of widely known farmer Albert Gauger of
Manitowoc Rapids. In keeping with her expressed dying wish to be buried
with her little daughter, her body was brought here and Sun. afternoon
was taken from the home of August Meyer to the city cemetery for burial.

[I don’t have a burial record for the 2 year old. The lot she is buried
on (and the adjoining lot) was paid for on 8/25/1904 by Ida Meyer a few
days after Caroline died. The lots were then quit claimed to Albert Gauger
on 8/26/1908. Albert is buried on the adjoining lot.]
