FRANK KONECNY (d. 2006)

Frank Konecny, age 81, of 1212 South 35th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal
rest late Friday evening, October 6, 2006, at the Aurora Medical Center, Two
Rivers, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Private funeral services for the family will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2006,
at Grave Ev. Lutheran Church, 2426 North Rapids Road, Manitowoc. Officiating will
be Rev. Thomas Pankow with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Frank was born on Nov. 22, 1924, in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Peter
and Anna Tauber Konecny. He attended schools in Manitowoc and was a graduate of
Lincoln High School with the class of 1943. He entered the United States Navy and
served aboard the submarine USS Ottis which was stationed in New Guinea during
World War II. He married Marjorie Wood in May 1947. She preceded him in death in
November 1993. He then later married Elaine Schroeder in May 1995. Frank was
employed at Dow Canvas/Dowco for 50 years retiring in November 1995. Frank was a
member of Grave Ev. Lutheran Church and a life member of the Manitowoc Yacht
Club.
He is survived by his wife: Elaine; two sons and daughters-in-law: Peter and Jody
Konecny, Shorewood, Wis.; Michael and Nancy Konecny, Green Bay, Wis.; one daughter
and son-in-law: Sandra and Fred Matchopatow, Two Rivers, Wis.; five grandchildren:
Christopher (JC) Konecny, Charlotte, No. Carolina; Lisa (Jason) Yeomans, Atlanta,
Georgia; Kathryn Konecny, Denver, Colorado; Jackson and Jenna Konecny, Green Bay,
Wis.; one sister: Mary Matheys, Two Rivers, Wis.; two step children: Leigh (Marie)
Schroeder, Manitowoc, Wis.; James (Dana) Schroeder, Eau Claire, Wis.; eight step
grandchildren: Jeff Schroeder, Idaho; Brian (Kay) Schroeder, Two Rivers, Wis.;
Mike (Lori) Schroeder, Manitowoc, Wis.; Robert, Erika, Alex, Mila and Luke Schroeder,
Eau Claire; three step great grandchildren: Mikaelyn and Benjamin Schroeder, Two
Rivers, Wis.; Emma Schroeder, Manitowoc, Wis.; nieces, nephews along with other
relatives and friends surviving. Frank was preceded in death by his parents: Peter
and Anna Konecny; his first wife: the former Marjorie Wood; two brothers: William
and Joseph Konecny; three infant siblings.
Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday,
Oct. 10, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation
Center, North 11th and St. Clair St., is assisting the family with funeral
arrangements.
