to take a run to Eland Junction. He retired nine years ago.

Frank Krahn says the best place for hunting is up North, at the end of the
line, that is, of the M.L.S. & W. Ry. The country is yet a primitive wilderness.
Night is made hideous by the howling of wolves, while during the day you
everywhere meet the evidence of abundant game. A short time ago, Mr. Krahn met
a monster bear rather suddenly. Before he knew it he was within about eight feet
of bruin and could nearly touch the latter with the muzzle of his rifle. But
there was no time for experimenting and Frank blazed away and down went his
bearship. The trophy was promptly secured, and relatives and friends in this
city received a share of the meat.
