Fall Fatal To Farmer
Worker Dies After Fall From a Hay Mow
Fred Kraus, 65, farm worker who fell 15 feet from a hay mow to the ground Monday
afternoon at the John Kraus farm, four miles southwest of Reedsville, died at
9:30 o'clock this morning from the effects of the injuries.
Kraus sustained a skull fracture, a broken arm and internal injuries. His condition
was so serious that he could not be moved to the hospital.
Kraus had been employed by his cousin, John Kraus, for some time. He is survived
by his mother, Mrs. Henry Seehawer of Rockford, Ill.; two brothers, Charles of
Appleton and Edward at Abbotsford, Wis.; and a sister in California.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Funeral services for Fred Kraus, who died Thursday as a result of injuries received
earlier in the week in a fall from the haymow on the John Kraus farm, were held
Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical church in Rockland, the Rev. W. J.
Abe officiating. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
Pallbearers were Elmer, Raymond and Marvin Kraus, Roman Behnke, Edgar Lau and Eldor
Goldschmidt.
