MRS. KREIE IS DEATH VICTIM
Native of County Dies At The Home of Daughter
After only a week’s illness, Mrs. Bertha Mahnke Kreie, 71, a native and resident
of the county her entire life, died early this morning at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Theo. Duebner, 1006 Manila street, with whom she had been making her home.
Funeral services will be held from the Duebner home Monday afternoon at 1:30 and
at 2 o’clock from the German Lutheran church, Rev. Koeninger officiating. Interment
will be at Evergreen.
The maiden name of the deceased was Bertha Wilsing. She was born at Mishicot in 1860.
She was married 53 years ago to Christ Mahnke. They resided in this city where Mr.
Mahnke engaged in the grocery business. He died 18 years ago and she later married
John Kreie, who is also deceased.
Two sons, Bernard and Herbert Mahnke, both of this city, four daughters, Mrs. Theo.
Duebner, Mrs. Clarence Krueger, Mrs. Elmer Haupt and Mrs. George Sladkey, all of
this city, five brothers, Henry, Ernst, William, Charles and August Wilsing, all of
Sheboygan, a sister, Mrs. Fred Bohling, Sheboygan, and 15 grandchildren survive.
The remains will be removed to the Duebner home on Manila street Sunday morning from
the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home, where they may be viewed up o the time
of the funeral.
