Emil Krejci (photo), retired Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., worker, died early
Wednesday morning at his home, 1010 Chicago St., Manitowoc, following a
lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti will officiate and burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Krejci was born July 5, 1889, in the Town of Gibson, son of the late Emanuel
and Mary Steuber Krejci, and Oct. 23, 1912, married Blanche Krish at Manitowoc.
He was employed at Manitowoc Seating Factory and later at Manitowoc Shipbuilding
Inc., until retirement nine years ago.
For years Mr. Krejci played with numerous musical organizations in Manitowoc
County. Always interested in marine lore, he salvaged the whistle off the
Christopher Columbus which he presented to the city.
Surviving are his wife; a brother, Edward of Manitowoc and several nieces and
nephews. A daughter, Ludmilla, died in 1928.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.
