Wencel B. Krish, 84, of 1708 Michigan Ave., Manitowoc, died Friday, Aug. 15,
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 12 noon
at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Mitchell Weber will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside
rites will be accorded Mr. Krish by American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 of
Manitowoc.
Mr. Krish was born Sept. 8, 1895, at Cooperstown, son of the late Wencel and Mary
Mrashek Krish. In 1921 he moved to Manitowoc, residing here since and married
Helen E. Zahorik in 1927 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Krish was
a mason by trade and had been employed by various contractors. He was a veteran
of World War I, serving from Nov. 18, 1917 to Aug. 8, 1919 with the United States
Army, 58th Infantry over seas in Europe. He was a member of American Legion Drews
Bleser Post No. 88 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Otto-Oas Post No. 659.
Survivors include his wife, Helen E. of Manitwooc, a brother and sister-in-law,
Edward and Molly Kirsh of Maribel, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Tillie Krish of Manitowoc
and nephews. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, where a prayer
service will be at 7 p.m.
