FRANCES BYRNS (RITCHIE) KRUCK

Frances Byrns (Ritchie) Kruck, age 97, of 407 Park St., Manitowoc, died
Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center,
Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2006, at the
First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Dr. Matthew L. Sauer will
officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Frances was born July 21, 1908, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Robert A.
and Daisy Bailey Ritchie. She was educated in the Manitowoc Public Schools
and was a 1926 graduate of Lincoln High School. She received her Bachelors
of Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 1930. She
attended the University of Iowa and received her masters degree from New York
University in 1940. Frances taught physical education in the Baraboo Public
Schools and at Woodrow Wilson Jr. High School and Manitowoc Lincoln High School
for 40 years, retiring in 1970 as a counselor and dean of girls at Lincoln High
School. She married Raymond M. Kruck on Aug. 15, 1982, at First Presbyterian
Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1995. Frances has
been a member of First Presbyterian Church since March 24, 1921. She served on
the Board of Deacons and Member the Sessions of the church and the Crafty Ladies
of First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Delta Psi Kappa (National
Honorary Professional Physical Education Sorority), Kappa Delta Pi (Honorary
Scholastic Fraternity), former member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, former
member of the Eastern Star, Elks Ladies past presidents, volunteer at Park Lawn
Home, president of the Manitowoc County Retired Teachers Association, Wisconsin
Education Association, Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, Alumni Association
of the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, National Retired Teachers Association,
Northeastern Wisconsin Education Association, Manitowoc County Historical Society,
Wisconsin Maritime Museum, Woodland Dunes and the Shrine Auxiliary.
She is survived by two nieces and two nephews; 12 grandnieces and grandnephews;
12 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; her caregivers; and her good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ray; one brother: William A. Ritchie,
and two sisters: Jessie Ritchie Rutherford and Ruth Bailey Ritchie.
Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of
Manitowoc on Sunday, July 16, 2006, from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Monday at the
church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, the Alumni Association of the
University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse or Manitowoc Lincoln High School.
