MRS. KRUEGER, OLD RESIDENT, PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Augusta Krueger, pioneer resident of the county, known to pioneers and
friends as “Grandma” Krueger, died at the home of her son Ernst Krueger Saturday
night, aged 87, death being due to infirmities of age. Mr. Kreuger preceded her
in death seventeen years ago and for the past five years she had made her home
with her son here.
Mrs. Krueger was born in Germany August 24, 1837 and came to this state when a
young girl. She was married to Mr. Krueger in 1859 and the family resided in the
town of Newton for many years before removing to the city.
Ten children survive being William, of Minneapolis, Ferdinand and Carl of Newton,
Julius and Mrs. Mary Gennrich, this city, Mrs. A. Weinburg, Appleton, Herman of
Romulus, Mich., Henry of Newton and Fred of Wausau and Ernst in this city. Sixteen
grandchildren and one great grand-child also survive.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon from the home to the German M.E.
church at 2 o’clock.
