MARTHA KRUEGER (d. 1953)

Mrs. Henry Krueger Sr., 74, of 1420A Division St., Manitowoc, died Monday
morning of a hert attack while aboard a Milwaukee Road train en route from
Portage. She and Mr. Krueger had been visiting with a son in law and daughter
who were preparing to move to Markesan. It was on the return trip that Mrs.
Krueger suffered the heart seizure.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. Friday at the First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, the Rev. L. H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Krueger, the former Martha Schult, was born April 8, 1879, at Hamburg,
Germany, and came to the United States when 15 with an aunt and settled in
the town of Newton. She was married in Manitowoc June 1, 1899, and the couple
resided in the city. Mrs. Krueger was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of
the church.
Survivors include the husband, five daughters, Mrs. Elsie Bathke, Mrs. Arno
Lettenberger and Miss Marie Krueger of Manitowoc, Mrs. William Keery of Markesan
and Mrs. Leonard Poe of Engelwood, Calif.; a son, Henry Jr., of Manitowoc; a
brother, Frederick Schult and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Baedeker and Mrs. Minnie
Harms of Hamburg, Germany; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after noon
Thursday until 10:30 a.m. Friday when the casket will be removed to the church.
