Alvin W. Krumm, 67, of 862 N. 14th St., Manitowoc, a former city electrical
inspector, died of a heart attack Tuesday evening at home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. N. W. Kock will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Krumm was born June 5, 1900, at Manitowoc, son of the late Charles and
Caroline Kasten Krumm. He attended local schools and was employed by the
Buerstatte Electric Co., Manitowoc, as an electrician before he went to work
for the City of Manitowoc Oct. 25, 1937. For nine years he performed in the
dual capacity of acting electrical inspector and communication electrician.
He also served as city electrician for the fire and police department system
until his retirement in January, 1964.
After his retirement he was employed at Craft Electric Inc. of Manitowoc,
Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. and Michalek Electric Co., Manitowoc. Krumm was
a member of the Fire Fighters Local No. 368 and the Firemen’s Benefit Assn.
He married Florence Kolanchek Dec. 27, 1924, at Manitowoc.
She survives along with a daughter, Mrs. David (LaVerne) Baldwin, of Manitowoc,
two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Thielen, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Esther Waniger, of
Shoto and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m.
Thursday until noon Friday and then at the church. Memorials may be sent to
First German Evangelical Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
