CHARLES F. KUCHENBECKER

Charles F. Kuchenbecker, 74, of 915 Chicago St., died at Memorial Hospital,
Manitowoc, Friday morning where he had been taken after a neighbor found him
lying in the driveway between 913-915 Chicago St. at 5:53 a.m. Friday. A post-
mortem examination is being conducted.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Urbanek-Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitwoc. The Rev. Paul Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Kuchenbecker was born Jan. 17, 1890, in the Town of Gibson, son of the late
Carl and Anna Snorek Kuchenbecker. In 1911 he married the late Hattie Basken at
Manitowoc where the couple lived two years before moving to Taylor County where
it farmed from 1913 to 1919. They returned to Manitowoc then and for several
years Mr. Kuchenbecker was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co. from 1927 to 1941. He
operated the Kuchenbecker Grocery at Chicago St., then his son Emil took over
the active operation of the store and Charles Kuchenbecker worked with him until
retiring in 1954. Mrs. Kuchenbecker died in 1948.
Surviving are a son, Emil; a sister, Mrs. Anna Thor; and three grandchildren,
Jane, John and Gary Kuchenbecker, all of Manitowoc. Three brothers and two sisters
preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Sunday until the hour of services
Monday.
