ARVIN W. KUESTER

Arvin W. Kuester, 73, of 946 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, died early Thursday morning
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following an illness of six months.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
The Rev. Roland L. Schwandt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery where military graveside rites will be offered by Otto Oas Post No. 659,
Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The son of the late Friedrich and Johanna Helwig Kuester was born Oct. 11, 1883
in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids and as a young man lived on the homestead farm.
He attended high school and business college at Manitowoc before becoming a
utilities lineman at Minneapolis. When World War I erupted he served with the
Army Corps of Engineers for 18 months in Europe.
Mr. Kuester married the former Esther Fritsch in 1923 and the couple resided at
Minneapolis and Sheboygan until 1927, coming then to Manitowoc. He was employed
by Manitowoc Public Utilities and Wisconsin Public Service Corp. and during World
War II was a guard at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. Later and until his retirement
in 1952 he was employed at the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. He was a member of the ____
and the Manitowoc aerie of Eagles.
Surviving him are his wife and a nephew Richard Kuester of Wausau, an only sister,
Mrs. Hugo Johnson of Rockford, Ill., died three months ago.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.
